DCWV chalkboard paper decorative kitchen menu!

I know what your thinking.. chalkboard paper?! COOL RIGHT?! Well DCWV has done it again! Chalkboard paper! And YES you can really use chalk on it! I even used a chalk marker! I have always wanted to make a lil kitchen menu to put on this easel on the counter in the kitchen. So when I got my hands on the chalkboard paper from DCWV and in the same trip found this frame on clearance for 80% off that matches my copper and orange kitchen perfectly.. I literally RAN as fast as I could back to the car to get home to start this project! I cut the chalkboard paper to fit the frame, put some glue on the frame and stuck the chalkboard paper (which conveniently already had the nice border and banner at the top) to the back side of the frame lip and added some orange paper to go with our color scheme.. but it needed something more, something to separate the chalkboard paper from the bottom regular paper, so I added my FAVORITE stuff to work with! BLING from The Buckle Boutique! Now the easel that was sitting empty and lonely waiting for this menu board I had always wanted to make is lonely no more!

My goal of this post is to show you that the chalkboard paper from DCWV is SO worth the money! I have so many other ideas to play with this stuff! they have many prints and even just plain chalkboard! Stay tuned for more! As always, happy crafting and be sure to check out The Buckle Boutiques Blog for what all the design team is up to with the New stacks from DCWV! We might just inspire you 🙂

Wall Art Hearts using DCWV burlap and chalkboard paper

HELLO to all reading! I’m so happy you stopped by! WELCOME! I wanted to share a lil project with you and tell you a lil about what we (the Wilson household) are up to!

We are starting to re-do my 9 year old daughters room, the kids always get a total room makeover for their 10th b-day and hers is due in October! My mom, dad, husband and I come together to give them a WHOLE new room! HOW EXCITING RIGHT?! ANYWAYS, I came across these blank empty hearts to hang on the wall at Baileys (it’s like a sell out store, they buy from stores going out of business and sell the products they buy for WAY CHEAP!) for $1.99 so of course, I HAD to have them! I Knew I could do something awesome with them! I was just going to paint them, but since my daughters furniture is white, I thought, well I can do better then just painting them, I will leave them white and figure out something else to do with them. Since I first used the self adhesive bling sheets from The Buckle Boutique… I’ve been OBSESSED with them! i seriously use them on everything! So I KNEW I would use the bling on them. Then came these awesome new DCWV stacks, the burlap stack that has MANY colors in it, and the chalkboard stack that has many prints! Once I saw them I dug these out of my storage bin for my daughters room decor and went to work!

SO simple, I took the teal burlap and traced the heart, cut it out and glued it to the back. My daughter came up with the idea of hanging something in the center of one, so I free handed some bubble letters on the yellow zebra print paper I got from DCWV and she helped me cut those out and we spent some time together hanging the letters from tiny clothes pins that we blinged with scraps of our collection of Buckle Boutique bling sheets, we put a dab of hot glue when clipping the clothes pins to the letters to be sure they would stay. The heart witht he striped center is the chalkboard stack from DCWV. We did the same process, traced the heart, and cut it out and glued it to the back of the heart, this gives it more dimension. We loved the yellow zebra print (we are self diagnosed zebra addicts in my house by the way) paper so much (as you recall we used it with the letters) so we used it on the last heart and glued on a little butterfly we had laying around that I had found on clearence once for 10 cents a piece and gone nuts buying all of them! hey a deal is a deal, right?! I knew I would use them some place! It was the perfect last little touch on this piece of wall art! NOW, we just have to paint her room so these can go up on the wall and be forever talked about cause they are THAT cute! I will update pictures once they are in place! what will YOU do with the new DCWV stacks?! 😉

Chocolate bunny Easter card with a touch of bling

I saw this really cute Easter card idea on Pintrest a while back and this was the year I finally decided to do it! Check it out!

Image

Cute right?! Oh my gosh I just LOVE IT! I made this one for my parents, they seem to like silly cards rather then serious cards so this is perfect for them!

I got the chocolate bunny on the Silhouette Store (on sale) and cut on my cameo, along with the grass border and the speech bubbles, the font is from dafont.com and is called Fat Bottom (yes free!)

I couldn’t really call this card done until I added some bling, so I hole punched my favorite bling from The Buckle Boutique and peeled the backing off and stuck it on!

Have you got your bling yet?! Go to The Buckle Boutique and get yours today! You will find your self using it on pretty much everything! The 24-CARROT Treat Box (see what I did there?!)

So while I was on this MAJOR bling craft binge, a friend and I were talking and she had just made a cool 3D carrot lil treat box for Easter, and she said “ya know what would be funny, if you blinged one of these and called it a 24-carrot haha!” After I finished laughing I immediately went to the Silhouette store and bought the 3D carrot box and got to work! Here it is!

Come on guys, this is just to fun! My whole family had a good laugh on this one! This project would be awesome for say a school or church party, for the kids Easter baskets or for fun lil gifts to give at work! You could even trick your significant other and say, “I bought you BLING, 24 “carrot”, they will never know what hit them 🙂

Paper Craft Easter Basket.. WITH BLING!

Every year my kids and I go outside the evening before Easter and the kids “plant” jelly beans, the next morning to their surprise.. lollipops have “grown” out of the ground from their jelly bean planting! Its SO fun to see the little kids LIGHT UP and get so super excited when they discover that the Easter Bunny has fertilized their plants and made them grow overnight into yummy lollipops!

Well anyways, when we go out to plant, each of the kids get a lil basket to carry their jelly beans in, so without further hold up.. this is this years baskets!

I bought the cut from the Silhouette store and cut it on my cameo and assembled it, so super easy and fast!

At the end I added a cute lil butter fly clip for the girls hair, and of course nothing of mine is complete without… BLING! In case you didn’t know that by now!

I hope you enjoyed the story of our lil Easter tradition and this easy project! Don’t forget to pick up your bling from The Buckle Boutique! Its so easy to work with, and I use it on EVERYTHING I do! cards, scrapbook pages, jewelry, paper crafts, house decor, literally everything!

DCWV cork paper earring hang up or wall art

Who is ready to try out the DCWV cork board paper!?  I know I was! Here’s a simple and fast project and the solution to missing tangled messy dangle earrings!

So I had this board that had fake light up candles on it, it was like a centerpiece to a table, and it was just sitting around, not being used, so I tuned it into something useful!

Image

It was literally this simple, trim the cork board to the size you need, peel the back and stick on! I used a thicker piece or cork board behind it to give some space to push in the earrings since the cork paper is about 1/8th of an inch thick, but this chevron printed self adhesive cork paper puts JUST the right touch on it!Then, I added The Buckle Boutiques self adhesive bling sheets to it, just scraps I had of the clear, along the edges to give it that bling! I love how the clear bling brightens up the black on this and the contrast of the black and the cork color! Now this will look beautiful on the wall if you put earrings in it, although its so beautiful I haven’t brought myself to poking it with a set of earrings just yet! I love it!

Don’t forget to go get your bling on at The Buckle Boutique! They have all your bling needs for GREAT prices!

How do you store your earrings? What will you do with the new DCWV cork stack?! Look for it at your local craft store! SO many prints! And a solid stack to! Which, might I add, looks GREAT when stamped! Stay tuned for a project using stamps and the solid cork by me! Follow the blog and never miss a project! Also check out The Buckle Boutique BLOG HERE! My favorite craft people ever are over at The Buckle Boutique Design team so follow their blogs and you will have SO many bling projects and projects using some of the new stacks at DCWV, talk about creative inspiration overload!

Thanks for looking and as always, HAPPY CRAFTING YA’LL!
